Walk with the blind and visually impaired persons (4/10/2016)
On Sunday, 10 April, we successfully carried out our charity campaign “Walk with the blind and visually impaired persons” which is aimed at raising public awareness of people with this type of handicap. The action took place in the pedestrian zone of Belgrade, Knez Mihailova Street and ended at Kalemegdan fortress where we have played chess with representatives of the chess club for blind and visually impaired “Napredak”. Walking is attended by a large number of citizens, and tourists who were visiting Belgrade also joined us during the walk. At the beginning of the walk, the participants were addressed by City Council member Dragomir Petronijevic, Head of the Youth Office and the cooperation with Associations of Belgrade Nedeljko Brkic and Branka Radosavljevic from the Association of the Blind of Serbia.
Beside these, following institutions also have provided support for our action: City organization of blind Beograd, Chess club Napredak, ESN BelUPgrade, OMSI Committee of the Student Parliament of the Law Faculty in Belgrade, IFMSA – Serbia and US dr Jova Zmaj, Rotaract Club Beograd Vracar and RotaractClub Zrenjanin.
